About Sorrel
I hold a PhD in French Linguistics and have 12 years of teaching experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels. My interest in French began with a strong passion for languages and cultural studies, which gradually developed into a professional teaching career.
My teaching approach focuses on clarity, patience, and real-life application. I break down grammar concepts into simple steps so students can understand and apply them confidently. I use conversation practice, real-world examples, and interactive exercises to make learning engaging and effective. I also adapt my teaching methods based on each student’s pace and learning preferences.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy exploring French literature, films, and linguistic research, which helps me bring deeper insights into my lessons. Teaching French is very fulfilling because I see students grow in confidence and fluency over time. Helping them communicate effectively motivates me to continue teaching with dedication and enthusiasm.

Learning French becomes more effective when students understand how the language is used in real communication rather than focusing only on memorizing grammar rules. My lessons are designed to build strong skills in vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and conversation through clear and simple explanations. I guide students step by step so they can understand sentence structure, verb usage, and how to express ideas naturally. I include speaking and listening activities that help students become comfortable using French in everyday situations. Each session is interactive and supportive, allowing students to practice freely and build confidence without hesitation.
I structure my lessons carefully based on each student’s level and goals to ensure steady and meaningful progress. Beginners focus on basic vocabulary, pronunciation, and simple sentence formation. Intermediate learners work on grammar accuracy, reading comprehension, and conversation practice. Advanced students focus on fluency, complex sentence structures, and expressive communication. Practice exercises, speaking activities, and regular feedback are included to strengthen understanding and improve performance over time.
French lessons also help students develop communication skills, cultural awareness, and confidence. As they improve, they become more comfortable expressing themselves clearly in different situations. Many learners enjoy exploring French culture along with language learning. My goal is to make French learning engaging, practical, and confidence-building while supporting long-term fluency.
