About Cole
My fascination with French began during my travels through Paris and Lyon, where I fell in love with the melody of the language and the warmth of its culture. Over the past nine years, that passion has evolved into a rewarding career teaching students from all walks of life to speak, read, and feel French with confidence and authenticity. What started as a personal interest quickly grew into a life mission — to help others experience the same joy I once felt when first speaking French fluently. My teaching philosophy blends patience, cultural storytelling, and immersion. I adapt lessons to each learner’s pace, using conversation, media, and creative writing to keep the language alive and engaging. I believe that French should be learned through context, emotion, and experience — not just textbooks. Outside teaching, I enjoy reading French literature, attending cultural events, and collaborating with fellow educators. These pursuits continuously refresh my classroom energy and inspire new teaching ideas. For me, every student’s progress — from their first “bonjour” to a confident, expressive dialogue — is a reminder of why I teach. Language is a gift, and guiding others to master it is my greatest joy.

My French lessons are designed to make students fall in love with the rhythm, logic, and expressiveness of the language. Each session combines structured grammar practice with natural conversation, helping students internalize vocabulary through real communication rather than memorization. I aim to make every class feel like a small step into French life — from its music and cuisine to its cinema and literature — so that learning remains vibrant, contextual, and alive. Beginners begin by mastering pronunciation, basic grammar, and conversational building blocks through guided speaking and listening activities. Intermediate learners develop fluency, refine writing, and explore idiomatic expressions, while advanced students dive into culture, literature, and complex linguistic nuances. I also offer DELF/DALF preparation and specialized lessons for travelers or professionals. Beyond technical mastery, my lessons focus on shaping how students feel about learning French. I strive to build confidence through empathy, humor, and cultural immersion. Many learners begin shyly, unsure of their accent or grammar, but soon find themselves expressing emotions, opinions, and even humor in French. The transformation is always powerful — students begin thinking in a new rhythm, feeling at ease in another language, and connecting with an entirely new world of art, culture, and identity. For me, this evolution from hesitant learner to confident communicator is what makes teaching French endlessly rewarding.
