About Amy
Hello, my name is Amy and look forward to teaching you! I am comfortable teaching all levels, whether you are just starting out or have been playing the cello for many years. I have 6 years of teaching experience, including working with young children, and I have completed training in cello pedagogy during my undergraduate degree at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

A typical one hour lesson will include cello techniques, playing different pieces, music theory, and feedback for improvements. I believe a good foundation in cello technique is important from the very start, so if you are just beginning to play the cello I will make sure that you have the confidence to practise at home with the correct technique. I also enjoy working with more experienced players, and I will be able to help develop your musicality and technique. I can offer constructive feedback on a piece you are working on to guide your musical understanding. I have a masters from the Royal College of Music, and completed my Bachelor's of Music at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, USA.

Perfect! Very good attention to detail: Amy showed us (my daughter and I are taking lessons together) for example that we should use a different part of the finger to press down the string. Holding a consistent tone with that change became a lot easier. Amy herself sounds beautiful - even when just playing a few notes.
