About Gavin
I am a classically trained musician with teaching experience ranging from Early Years through to Senior School, both in the private and state sectors, in the UK and abroad (Spain, Egypt and Singapore). In most places I have taught the National Curriculum for England and have been the co-ordinator for music, teaching class and instrumental, arranging concerts, directing musical productions, playing for assemblies and fulfilling all the other roles required in leading the subject. I also have extensive professional performing experience as a vocalist and accompanist. In addition, I play the guitar, bass guitar, saxophone, cello and recorder.

It is well documented that learning to play a musical instrument has many benefits other than just learning to read music and pass exams. In my experience, the majority of children who have instrumental lessons demonstrate improved self-discipline and memory, a longer, more focused attention span, higher self-esteem, greater creativity and teamwork. This can only help the student in being successful in their academic studies.
