About Felipe

I'm a passionate Actor, director and producer who loves the practice of creating a character as much as passing my knowledge and experience in this field. My aim is to bring out the best of every student, polishing skills and focusing on their needs and goals in the same way. I trained myself at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama achieving a master's honours degree in Acting for Screen, in addition, I was invited to train Coaching for film as they saw my passion and the potential to want to help others in this industry. I attribute to this training the student's ability to understand how to apply certain skills for acting, improv and auditioning and I find great excitement and happiness every time a student gets to audition for the role we've been working on, or someone gets a place in that acclaimed drama school by finding an improved body awareness, breath and the communication skills for every kind of scenario. In other words, I'm motivated by the opportunity to keep sharing my knowledge and drive others the passion I feel for acting and film. I have been giving these private lessons for 5 years, lessons include CSSD coaching and LCM exams. Also I run my own intensive acting training based on Meisner technique.

  • 1) When did you start practicing? How did this passion find you?

Since a very young age I figured by watching theater that Interpretation and dramatic arts work by having supreme physical awareness with everything that this includes, the voice, the mind and the higher state of being present with your five senses. Without a doubt, the first time I start training with experience actors I knew this is what I needed to release my creativity while training my whole being... I saw the actors as super men, free beings, creating their worlds to live in them, some how I felt Ithat these abilities were going to be very useful for living the present in everyday life and it is a fortune to be able to inspire and live from this art.
  • 2) Which artists or works affect you the most?

The theater adaptation of the film The 39 Steps by Alfred Hitchcock was the first work that I saw in the theater and that showed me the amazing universe in which an actor is capable of transporting us, then begin to discover the type of actors who work changing their energy completely like Meryl Streep, Marlo Brando and Al Paccino, back then without a doubt were my greatest prospects for the kind of actor I wanted to become.
  • 3) What are the qualities and skill required to succeed in this area?

Success will be the consequence of working passionately at your job, in addition to learning how to compose creatively with the crew. Therefore, values such as respect for your colleagues, punctuality, knowing your lines, arriving prepared so that the takes that are repeated are not because of you will be the things that will keep the doors open. Never lose curiosity.
  • 4) What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?

Always keep in mind what your motivation was from the beginning and what is the essence that should be reflected in your work. Remember that your passion for playing characters is because you have the need to connect with people in a deeper way and because you have something personal to share with the world, things like fame and the parallel lives that your craft offer you will come by themselves.
  • 5) How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?

As I said before, thanks to the fact that with my work I can connect with people in a deeper way and humanize through art, remembering that above all we are beings who have in common empathy for human beings. That makes me not lose faith for my work and keep the flame alive to take every challenge in the best way. I feel that this is the meaning of being an actor and training actors so that students find their path and their techniques on their own to feel free.
  • 6) What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?

I have found satisfaction around everything that the performing arts imply both in front of and behind the cameras, creating characters that people still remember or coaching actors who, thanks to my guidelines, have managed to enter their dream drama school or performed a great scene or audition with which they feel very proud. Feeling this kind of fullfiltment is priceless
  • 7) Have you ever been surprised by a student; by their ability or quick progression?

Each student is unique and consequently each human being has interesting perspectives and a very particular way of seeing the world. What my training is based on is how to bring out the best of the student's personality to enhance their strengths and avoid any kind of blockage to incorporate an emotion, a sensation or an energy. If acting catches your attention at first it is because in some way you are a sensitive being to it and the emotions permeate you easily. I have had students who understand this and progress easily, understanding that a great actor prepares physically, mentally and spiritually.
  • 8) Being a Superprof is an art! What is your secret?

My secret is not to hide my passion for acting and to see other young actors feel fulfilled by achieving their progress little by little. Also keep the training as fresh and spontaneous as possible because the secret in general to playing seriously just like when we were children and not taking success so seriously...everything will flow better when we focus on the how, the joy and not in the when.
