Hi. I'm Neil, and I've been helping students improve their IELTS speaking conversation and pronunciation skills since 2002.
I recently returned to university and am currently doing a literary PhD with the ANU.

Lesson Type 1: IELTS conversation and pronunciation skills for advanced adult students. This is a conversation lesson where I ask you general questions about life, the universe and everything, and as you answer I correct your vocabulary, sentence structure and pronunciation. We can also focus on a particular pronunciation challenge you might have such as the different 'th' sounds if you wish. I can also give you a short pronunciation test. We can talk about any subject except sport! [50 mins approx]
Lesson Type 2: IELTS speaking practice tests. I have over 200 sets of IELTS speaking practice questions. In this lesson I pretend to be an examiner and ask you IELTS questions but, unlike the exam, I'll stop and give you help and feedback with each of your answers. [50 mins approx]

I'm available most evenings 6pm to 1am Canberra time, and will be starting my new lessons through Superprof from July 2026.
Send me a message with your availability and preferred software (Teams, Zoom, Messenger, etc) and we'll organise a time for a lesson. Please book at least 72 hours in advance to give me time to prepare for your lesson.
Also, if you wish to cancel a lesson, please cancel at least 48 hours before so that I can give that timeslot to another student.
