About Selen
Music runs in my family, and I’ve been singing since age four. I’m a multidisciplinary, improvisational artist trained in classical Turkish music, with guitar and voice studies at a part-time city conservatory, and additional training in piano. I’ve performed and recorded with multiple bands across Turkish and English repertoires, coached vocals, organized recitals, and written notation. I’m also a keen user of modern digital music programs to keep learning engaging. Over the past ten years, I’ve specialized in teaching children—blending musicianship, creativity, and calm structure so young learners build real confidence at the keyboard. Bilingual (Turkish/English) and happy to share references on request.

Lessons are calm, creative, and structured so children feel confident from day one. We blend note-reading, rhythm games, ear training, and age-appropriate repertoire (classical, film/TV, pop). Short, engaging activities keep focus high; duets and simple improvisation spark curiosity. Parents receive clear weekly practice notes and gentle goals, with regular check-ins to celebrate progress. I’m continually refining a unique method for young piano learners—tested over 10 years and showing proven success in steady, joyful progress. Suitable for beginners through early intermediates, in person or online. References available on request.

Selen is a gentle, creative, and highly organised piano teacher. Our child looks forward to lessons, follows clear weekly practice notes, and has made steady progress in reading, rhythm, and confidence. Warmly recommended.
Selen is a kind, patient, and reliable piano tutor. She explains things clearly and always makes lessons enjoyable and easy to follow. I’ve learned a lot and feel more confident thanks to her guidance. She really cares about her students and helps you improve at your own pace. I highly recommend her!
Selen is an extremely talented musician, as both a vocalist and pianist . And she is a fabulous teacher, with knowledge, patience and a great ear for music. I highly recommend Selen as a music teacher.
Selen is an instructor who truly sets herself apart with her approach to music and education. Because she prioritizes fostering a love of music in aspiring young pianists, her lessons are always enjoyable and she's incredibly effective at engaging students. With her innovative perspective and intellectual expertise, I'm confident she will continue to provide each student with much more than just piano instruction.
