About Damian
I'm Damian, a friendly and approachable Autistic Maths tutor currently studying Level 3 Uniformed Public Services. I achieved a Grade 7 in GCSE Maths 2 years ago and personally highly enjoyed Maths, I also enjoy helping others understand Maths in a simple and straightforward way.
Although I'm new to tutoring, I've often been recommended by friends when they need help with Maths. I focus on helping students understand what a question is asking and then choosing the correct method to solve it, rather than simply giving them the answer.
I'm patient and happy to work at the student's own pace, helping them build both their understanding and confidence. I aim to provide relaxed, supportive 1-hour lessons for students studying GCSE Foundation Maths.

Techniques & Teaching Methodology
My approach is to first help the student understand what the question is asking before deciding which method to use. I then explain the relevant method step-by-step and work through examples either by myself or in progress with the student. My aim is to help students understand why they are using a particular method, rather than simply memorising an answer. Then allow the student to complete some questions by themselves with supervision so then mistakes can be highlighted
Typical Lesson Length
I aim to provide 1-hour lessons, giving enough time to explain the topic, work through examples and allow the student to practise.
Qualifications & Experience
I achieved a Grade 7 in GCSE Maths and am currently studying Level 3 Uniformed Public Services.
I don't have professional tutoring experience yet, but I have been recommended by friends when they have needed help with Maths, particularly when explaining questions and methods.

My lessons are aimed at students of any age who are studying GCSE Foundation Maths. I can help with understanding questions, learning the correct methods, practising topics and building confidence.
