About Nichola
I'm a friendly, enthusiastic and fully qualified teacher with a PGCE (Secondary), a BA (Hons) from Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts and a Master's degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.
I specialise in helping GCSE English Language and Literature students develop their confidence, improve their writing and feel fully prepared for their exams.
My teaching style is supportive, creative and tailored to each individual. I know that English doesn't come naturally to everyone, so I focus on making challenging concepts accessible, breaking down exam questions and helping students understand exactly what examiners are looking for.
With my background in acting, literature and education, I bring a fresh perspective to English tuition, particularly when exploring plays, novels, characterisation and creative writing.
Whether a student is struggling to achieve a pass or aiming for the top grades, I believe that with the right guidance, encouragement and a little creativity, every student can make real progress.
Above all, I want my students to enjoy learning, feel comfortable asking questions and leave each lesson feeling more confident than when they arrived.

GCSE English Language & Literature Tuition | Personalised, Supportive and Results-Focused
Struggling with English GCSE? Finding essay writing difficult? Or simply looking to build confidence and aim for a higher grade?
I'm a qualified teacher with a PGCE in Drama, a BA (Hons) from Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts and a Master's degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. I offer engaging, supportive and individually tailored GCSE English Language and Literature lessons.
I understand that English can feel overwhelming, particularly when it comes to analysing unfamiliar texts, structuring essays or knowing exactly what examiners are looking for. My aim is to make these skills feel achievable, breaking down difficult concepts into straightforward, manageable steps.
What I can help with:
GCSE English Language and Literature exam preparation
Creative, descriptive and persuasive writing
Essay planning, structure and analytical writing
Poetry, plays and novel analysis
Understanding quotations, themes and literary techniques
Reading comprehension and unseen texts
Exam technique, timing and mark schemes
Building confidence and developing independent writing skills
My Teaching Approach
Every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to suit individual abilities, goals and learning styles. Whether you're aiming for a pass or working towards the highest grades, I'll help you develop the skills and confidence to make progress.
My speciality is Shakespeare and I have examiner experience at GCSE and A Level for two UK exam boards.
Lessons are friendly, encouraging and structured, with plenty of practical examples, clear explanations and constructive feedback.
My goal is simple: to help students feel more confident in English and achieve results they can be proud of.
