About Julia
I'm a 25 year old English tutor and freelance writer from London. I've been tutoring since the age of 16 so have a wide range of experience as a teacher. Having achieved full marks in my English Literature A level, amongst the highest in the country at the time, I consider myself an expert in both GCSE and A level English. I have obtained a degree in English With Creative Writing from the prestigious University of Nottingham and can offer effective help with a variety of subjects surrounding English. I've tutored small children, helping them learn to read and write and obtain a high level of literacy, whilst I've also taught GCSE & A level students, helping them to achieve the best grades possible. I've tutored numerous adults, helping with their university degree level writing, and many foreign language learners. Because of these experiences, I feel I can offer a very wide range of skills as a teacher when it comes to this subject. My passion for English is something I wish to instil in all of my students.

I base all my lessons around the individual student, and make a comprehensive plan in our first session to establish the best personalised approach. For helping students with their English GCSEs, I can offer expert guidance on the different texts such as Macbeth, An Inspector Calls and many others, helping to develop a detailed, in-depth analysis. Alongside this, I go through past papers with my students and help them to improve their individual writing style, as well as offering extensive written feedback to boost their grades. Last year, all of my GCSE students on another platform went up by 2 or 3 grades, with one student going from a grade 4 to a grade 9 by the end of the year!
