About David
I’m a 24-year-old tutor with over 5 years of experience helping students improve their grades, understanding and confidence. I have a strong academic and practical background in Sport and Exercise Science, with experience studying and applying concepts in physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, training and sports performance.
I completed a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science at Loughborough University before continuing my studies in the USA. I have also completed a Master’s in Data Analytics at Bradley University and am currently completing a Master’s in Physiology and Nutrition at Loughborough University.
Alongside my academic studies, I compete as a high-level 800m athlete and have represented Wales and competed in the NCAA. This gives me first-hand experience of applying sports science concepts to real training and competition, including physiology, energy systems, training principles, recovery, nutrition and performance.
I enjoy teaching because I can combine my academic knowledge with real-world experience as an athlete, helping students understand not just what they need to know for an exam, but why it matters in sport and performance.

My lessons are structured, engaging and tailored to each student's individual needs, whether they are aiming to pass, improve their grades or achieve the highest possible marks.
I can support students studying GCSE and A-Level Sports Science, Sport Studies, PE and related subjects. Lessons can cover areas including exercise physiology, anatomy, biomechanics, nutrition, energy systems, training principles, fitness testing, sports psychology, recovery and sports performance.
I focus on developing a strong understanding of the subject while also building the exam technique needed to maximise marks. We can work through difficult topics step-by-step, use past-paper questions and mark schemes, and practise structuring answers effectively
.
Having studied Sport and Exercise Science at university and now specialising further in Physiology and Nutrition at Master's level, I can also help students understand more advanced concepts and connect different areas of the subject together.
My teaching style is clear, patient and supportive. I adapt each session to the student's level and focus on identifying their weaknesses before building their knowledge and confidence. I also use examples from my own experience as an athlete where appropriate to make theoretical concepts more practical and memorable.
I offer a free first lesson so we can establish the student's current level, identify areas for improvement and create a plan for future sessions.
