About Jemima
My name is Jemima Tanner. I have just completed my Geography undergraduate degree at Royal Holloway University of London where I achieved a first. My speciality at university was human geography, in particular focusing upon society to understand the deeper meaning behind the problem prevalent in our world today. For example during my second year I was part of a research paper which explored the significance of COVID in marginalising the Black Lives Matter movement. Despite most of my interests being consumed by Geography for the last three years, at College I tutored english to high school students. I have always enjoyed the classics and being a fast reader has allowed me to understand a wide range of literature and their associated structures and style

My lessons take a student-centric approach rather than a rigid class structure. My lessons last two hours, by deciding upon 3 key issues which need work immediately, the first hour of my lessons primarily focused upon solving these issues and the following hour will be used to tackle any problem areas that come up. I have taught secondary-school students in the past but now offer tutoring to college-level students also. Students aged 13-17 will benefit the most from my classes. My lessons aim to motivate and make education enjoyable by finding a specific blend of school work, my teaching and self-improvement with the student to achieve the best results overall.
