About Fiona
I am a penultimate year Geography BA undergraduate at Durham University, with the intention of going into law afterwards - to specialise in ESG/Energy. I achieved A*AA in geography, maths and biology in A-levels in 2024 - so up to date with latest advice and knowledge. I have experience tutoring in maths. I am able to tutor in Geography at GCSE and A-Level and in Maths and Biology at GCSE level. I achieved 9’s in Geography, Maths and Biology at GCSE. I have strong interpersonal skills and come across friendly and enthusiastic. This is due to lots of previous experience with children (young leader at a brownies group, babysitting and tutoring in maths), with elderly (volunteering at a care home) and volunteering with homeless charity, Crisis. I am confident in my ability to build connections with people. I would like to tutor to allow students to learn from my experience and help them to achieve their own personal goals. Sharing my understanding of different methods working for different students in an enthusiastic but focused environment allows me to work with students towards common goals under a tailored programme.

Personalised lesson plans based on content and learning style required for student. Length varied based on what suits the student best - 1 hour typically to allow optimal focus. Work towards goals to suit students' learning style but improve exam technique as well. I prioritise coming up with methods that suit a student as being dyslexic myself, I understand the importance of using different methods for different students to optimise effectiveness of learning and then teaching to apply the knowledge in exams. Good understanding of latest advice and knowledge for exam technique for A-Levels. Recent A-Level student so understand first hand how to do well.
