The objective is to help children retain what they have read by first practicing reading at a pace that works best for them. Once the reading is complete, we review by way of question and answer with artwork. The process involves asking the student simple questions about the story we just read. For example, ‘Who is the main character in the story? Where does our story take place? How did the character feel at the end of the story?’ Keeping the questions simple will lesson the frustration that sometimes occurs when a child doesn’t understand or remember. At times additional help will be given from the tutor if needed.
