About Sophia
I believe the ability to connect to a sense of purpose is key to truly succeeding. I’ve had the privilege of being both a tutor and tutee. In my youth, I sought tutoring for the purpose of raising my grades, however, what I got out of tutoring far exceeded my expectations. Having a tutor helped me to cultivate a sense of self-efficacy and it gave me the confidence and skills necessary to thrive academically. Reflecting back on my experiences as a tutee, ultimately made me a better tutor. I would define myself as somewhat of an educational chameleon. Sometimes I’m a teacher, a mentor, an advocate or even an academic cheerleader. I love the process of collaborating with students and tailoring each lesson to meet their unique needs and learning style. I truly feel a deep sense of satisfaction when I can help students to build self-efficacy and reach their full academic potential.
