About Shifa
Hi there,
My name is Shifa Ismail and I am currently studying A-level English Literature, Biology and Chemistry.
I achieved 7x9s and 2x8s at GCSE level - so please feel free to enquire other subject questions if necessary!
I believe that English can be very hard for students to engage with due to their lack of passion. My goal is to help you find your voice and unlock that passion so that you can discover the beauty of literature as an art form; not a boring essay subject.

My goal is to adhere to the needs of the student.
First, I’d gather information on how you are currently performing and what areas we need to work on. This can be in the form of simply talking, knowledge quizzes or a short written paragraph.
My goal within my lessons is to help you discover what writing style allows you to flourish. When English literature is taught at you instead of with you, it leaves little room for your own voice and opinions to be heard within your essays - often making it hard for people to engage with material.
My lessons are targeted to those who want extra support in their GCSE exams as English often requires a minimum grade of 4-6 in order to unlock higher education.
I have experience working with students when working for my Level 1 SLQ Sports Leadership qualification so I am experienced in navigating individual needs.
The lessons would start at 1 hour and we would communicate how this needs to be adjusted.
