About Jack
I'm a 17-year-old BTEC Level 3 Computing student currently predicted DDD, and I recently achieved grade 8 in GCSE Maths, Physics and Computer Science. I'm passionate about technology and problem-solving, which is why I chose to pursue Computing at a higher level.
Being a current student is actually one of my biggest strengths as a tutor. I've recently sat the same exams your child will be taking, so I know the current specification inside-out, understand which topics trip students up the most, and remember exactly what it feels like to be stuck on a difficult concept. That recent experience means I can explain things in a way that makes sense to students who are going through it right now.
I decided to start tutoring because I've always enjoyed helping classmates understand tricky topics, and I'm good at breaking down complicated ideas into simple steps. I know how frustrating it can be when something doesn't click, so my approach is patient and straightforward - no overcomplicating things, just clear explanations and practical exam techniques.
Outside of studying, I spend a lot of time coding and working on personal tech projects, which keeps my Computing knowledge sharp and practical. I'm reliable, easy to work with, and genuinely want to help students succeed in subjects that I know can feel overwhelming.

My Teaching Approach
I keep things simple and practical. No overcomplicating - I explain concepts in a way that actually makes sense, then we work through problems together until you've got it down. I focus on exam technique and shortcuts alongside the content because knowing the material is only half the battle - you need to know how to apply it under pressure.
How Lessons Work
Sessions are typically 1 hour long, conducted online via video call. I use a digital whiteboard so we can work through problems in real-time. Each lesson targets exactly what you're struggling with - whether that's a specific topic, exam preparation, or homework help.
My Qualifications
I recently achieved grade 8 in GCSE Maths, Physics and Computer Science, and I'm currently studying BTEC Level 3 Computing (predicted D*D*D). I understand the current curriculum inside-out because I've just been through it myself. This means I know exactly what exam boards want, what topics trip people up, and how to break them down.
