About Quam

I am a student and took A level Maths, Biology and Physics. Maths is my strongest subject which is why i have carried on to do it at University and then get a job as a software engineer. In the past i have worked with my uncle who owns a tutoring company in Manchester and generally taught GCSE students but now i feel like i can take any level after my result at A level. With Maths the more you do it the better you get at it and with me taking it on at University i can only see myself getting better at it. I attended University in Leicester studying Mathematics in the year 2018/19. However I am taking a gap year this year to gather work experience as a software engineer and in my spare time i will like to tutor people to help others from as little as 3 years old to 18 years old but to also stay on top of my Mathematics and carry on improving myself.

About the lesson

I like to tackle problems or issue the students have initially and them help them get to the next level of understanding which is the the way I learn, I work on what I struggle with them build on it. I use different methods to find a solution and this is what i would be helping any of my students with firstly, finding the solution that is best suited to them, and if there is no solution that needs solving, I will help them build on what they know already. I work hard and expect my students to meet me halfway with the right work ethic, hard work pays off and my grades at A Level shows this, going from a U grade in my first year to an A at the end of the two years. With me when learning Maths i like to do the workings and i feel like with teaching it too it would help if examples are shown first then get the student to try a few questions. I think maths can be make easy by understanding the concept and why it works so i like to also show the reason why the answer is what the answer is. I also use real life examples for some students that don't quite understand it first time.
