About Sumana
Hello! I’m Sumana, a dedicated coding educator with a proven track record of guiding students toward both technical mastery and confidence in problem-solving. With experience teaching IIT-level coding to Grades 6–12, as well as mentoring beginners and adult learners, I bring both depth of knowledge and patience to every lesson. My approach blends clear explanations, practical examples, and hands-on exercises so that even the most complex coding concepts feel accessible and enjoyable. I believe in creating a positive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and experimenting with ideas. Over the years, my students have not only improved their grades and project skills but also developed the mindset to tackle challenges independently. My goal is to equip every learner with both the skills and the confidence to apply coding in real-life scenarios. If you’re looking for a teacher who will guide you step-by-step, adapt to your pace, and support your growth, I’d be delighted to work with you. Together, we’ll make coding a skill you understand, apply, and truly enjoy.

Teaching Techniques and Methods
I believe coding is best learned through concept clarity + hands-on practice. I introduce topics in simple, relatable language, often using real-life examples to connect abstract concepts with everyday situations. I follow a “Explain → Demonstrate → Practice → Apply" method:
1. Explain the concept clearly.
2. Demonstrate with a live example or short program.
3. Guide practice through interactive exercises.
4. Apply learning in a mini project to reinforce understanding.
I also use "flowcharts, pseudocode, and visual aids" to help students understand logic before jumping into syntax. This ensures they develop problem-solving skills alongside programming knowledge.
* Warm-up (5 minutes): Quick recap or logic puzzle to engage the brain.
* Concept Introduction (10 minutes): Explain the topic with examples.
* Live Demonstration (10–15 minutes): Show real-time coding steps.
* Guided Practice (10 minutes): Students try coding with my support.
* Q\&A and Recap (5 minutes): Clear doubts and summarize key points.
* Homework/Challenge (Optional): Assign a small exercise or problem.
* Patience & Clarity: I ensure every student understands before moving forward.
* Project-Based Learning: Students build real mini-projects early on to boost confidence.
* Adaptability: I adjust my pace and teaching style based on the learner’s background.
* Motivation & Mentorship: I inspire students to think like problem-solvers, not just coders.
* Tech + Life Skills: I subtly integrate communication skills, discipline, and logical thinking.
My classes are suitable for:
* School Students (Grade 6–12): Introduction to coding, logic building, and school projects.
* College Students: Foundation in programming for academic and career needs.
* Adult Learners: Professionals or beginners looking to learn coding from scratch.
I can teach:
Basic Programming Concepts (Logic, Variables, Data Types, Loops, Functions)
Languages: C, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript basics
Problem-Solving Skills for coding interviews and competition
