About Stephanie
I recently graduated from Deakin University with a BA in Creative writing and Literature studies, and am passionate about reading, writing and editing. I also studied professional editing through Capstone Editing.
Through my degree I have gained experience across a variety of fiction and non-fiction genres, poetry, and essays based on a multitude of texts.
I have a particular interest in historical fiction and am currently writing my own book set in the Regency Era. Yes, that means I'm a sucker for Jane Austen's books and other Romance classics from around this period.
I do also love modern books and the most recent one that I couldn't put down was called The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Again, another historical fiction book.
One thing that I will need from you before we start is a sample of what you're working on. I’ll take time to read your work before each class so we can focus classes on areas of improvement.
I want to share my love of literature with you, and help you to achieve the highest quality standard of writing you can. I'm all about bringing out your best which will mean working on different aspects of writing for different students. This means tailoring lessons to you and your unique needs, and not following a one size fits all approach. Through my studies I gained a lot of experience giving feedback and line edits in workshop groups. I gained so much valuable experience from those groups and learnt that I really loved helping others with their writing from them.
So whether you want help with current assignments, improving your weaknesses, finding your voice, or just help with proof reads I'm happy to help.

Each lesson will be tailor made according to what you're looking to gain from my sessions. The first free lesson will cover what you want help with and how I can help you to achieve that. We will set a goal to work towards and focus each lesson on it. I also will ask for a sample of your writing so I can understand beforehand what level you are at and how I can structure my lessons to you. Lessons will go for 1 hour.
I am new to tutoring, but have experience gained from my studies in editing my own and other's works and completed a short course on top of that from Capstone Editing.
I will work with all ages and levels of competency, but since I am new, I may recommend you find a tutor with more experience if you are very advanced.
