About Katy
Hi! I’m Katy, a graduate biology student with extensive graduate-level coursework in the biological sciences. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Auburn University, where I also served as a Supplemental Instructor for Organic Chemistry, helping college students work through challenging science concepts.
Throughout graduate school, I have taken advanced courses across several areas of biology, giving me a strong foundation that I can adapt to students at different levels. My own academic experiences have also taught me that difficult material becomes much less intimidating when it is explained in a way that works for you.
I’m patient, encouraging, and genuinely enjoy helping students have that moment when something finally clicks. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and leaving each session feeling more confident than when they started!

My lessons are focused on helping you truly understand the material, not just memorize enough to get the right answer. I love organizing and formatting notes in a way that makes difficult topics easier to follow and study. We’ll work through concepts step-by-step, then use realistic test-style questions to practice applying what you’ve learned. I also want you to understand why an answer is right or wrong, so you can approach new questions with confidence on your own.
