About Mia
I am a graduate from both UC Berkeley and the University of Southern California (USC). I strongly believe in using the interests and stories of my students to cultivate the best educational experience for each student. After years of schooling, I realized that life has a lot to do with learning, and I find it important that each student is able to take their education and find value for it in their everyday lives. I also understand that students have different strengths and struggles, and I accommodate for both as I construct lessons plans. This includes the materials and techniques I use as well as the way I present lessons.

I do my best to incorporate the interests and strengths of my students to better engage them in their lessons. I also incorporate multimodal learning for students. This includes auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learning (if applicable) as well as different forms of technology (as available). I plan my lessons based on the specific needs of the students and their level of progression.
My experience is in teaching high school students, but my Master's degree focuses on English for grades 6-12.
