About Tobias
Hello, my name is Tobias, and I would very, very much like to teach you about the fascinating worlds of religious studies, history, and the intersection of the two. This subject has fascinated me for the majority of my adult life, and I am constantly surprised by its ever growing richness and depth. As your tutor I would seek to guide you through such topics as the treacherous political world of the Later Roman Empire, the history of Christianity and Judaism and the manifold ways in which the King James Bible continues to affect both the contemporary United Kingdom and the wider world. In this I can assure you that I would do all in my power to make our meeting intellectually stimulating, convivial and, hopefully, enlightening.

In my approach to tutoring I hope to impress upon my students the extraordinary richness and variety found within religious studies, history and the intersection of these subjects. In this I would hope to introduce them to lesser-known biblical and historical texts and encourage independent appraisal of both. Most importantly, I would particularly aim to illustrate the ways in which our own time has been irrevocably shaped by the religious policies of the past. Thus I would dearly wish to impart my love of these subjects to others.
