About Mitchell
Hi! My name is Mitch, and I received my Master of Science degree in Physics at Louisiana State University (LSU), where I graduated in the top 5% of my graduate class. In both my undergraduate days at the University of Washington and at LSU, I was involved in physics education. At the University of Washington, I worked in a research group designed to improve teaching methods for introductory physics course. In the next stage of my career at LSU, I worked as a tutor, teaching assistant, and lab instructor. Through these experiences, I learned how to present physical concepts in a clear and logical process, building on what students already knew or wanted to know to introduce new physics. I am a lifelong scientist with a passion for the beauty and elegance of our natural world, and I hope to share that enthusiasm and knowledge with others!

In my lessons, I strive to take naturally arising questions about our universe and build upon these to explain physical frameworks in a natural and easy to follow progression. In particular, I focus on conceptual explanations of theoretical methods that logically move step by step, followed by worked examples that show the depth and beauty of the theory we just built. Tutoring is aimed at the undergraduate physics student curious about the physical laws that govern everything around us! Specialties include quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, statistical mechanics, and classical mechanics.
