About Austin
Hi, I'm Austin, I'm a full-time music producer from Nashville, Tennessee living in South Lake Tahoe, and I'm on a journey to teach as many people as possible about the wonderful joys of making music!
I first picked up clarinet in 6th grade, and played it in the orchestral band until 10th grade.
Bass guitar at 12, took lessons from the area's leading bluegrass/country/rock'n'roll bassist for two months, at which time he refused my mother's money, saying "I've taught him all I can already."
Picked up guitar at 13, played in a metal band which I mainly composed the songs for.
Between 14, and 15 I discovered turntablism from one of my friends, started with iDJ, Serato, and REAPER.
For my 16th birthday I got a Novation Launchpad , which came with Ableton Lite(?), a heavily restricted form of the DAW Ableton, I practiced and performed live with my Launchpad/turntable setup, and more and more through the rest of my high school years progressively found myself immersed in producing in Ableton. This is when I started pursuing beat making and music production.
At 18 after my high school graduation I enrolled at SAE Institute in Nashville, where I attained a much greater understanding of music in it's entirety, growing what I'd like to call a mastery of more than a few genres of music, and I graduated with a BA in Sound Design.
