About Ewan
I have over 20 years playing experience, a Bachelor's degree in Creative Musicianship (guitar) with First Class Honors from the British Institute of Modern Music and have been teaching for 2 years. I've taught students at numerous schools from as young as 5 and as old as 65. During my time teaching, I've realized that there's nothing I enjoy more than helping students figure out that they can achieve so much more on the instrument, in so much less time, than they ever thought.

Through sound development of the fundamentals of guitar playing technique, I firmly believe that anyone can reach any level they want to on the instrument. Having been self-taught before, I understand how difficult and time-consuming learning to play the guitar can be. Using that experience and the formal training I received at university, I help each student establish a concrete baseline of what they need to know to accomplish their goals on the guitar.
Lessons can range from 30-60 minutes.
These lessons are for any age and any skill level, from absolute beginner to advanced and everything in between.

Have had lessons with Ewan for a while. He's very patient, and explains things clearly. I feel like I have made good progress across the lessons we have had. He clearly has in-depth knowledge of music theory, which is beyond my level at the moment, but will be useful later. It helps that he's also a really nice guy! Definitely recommend him.
Ewan is a wonderful teacher. I leave lessons inspired and excited to go home and practice the concepts we discussed. He has helped me set out clear goals for my guitar playing and I feel as though I am progressing more than ever before. Thanks heaps Ewan!

Ewan is a knowledgeable and patient guitar teacher. Lessons are well structured and tailored to the individual and their level. He also writes his own music which is on spotify. Highly recommended!
