About Michael
I am a 23-year-old graduate from the University of Miami's Frost School of Music. I began piano when I was 5, studying classical under the Suzuki method until age 12, where I found a new love for jazz. Throughout the past 5-6 years, my studies shifted towards contemporary songwriting, as well as music business, getting my Bachelor's degree in Music Business, with piano as my primary instrument. In the past, I have studied at the New England Conservatory in jazz ensembles, worked with Grammy-winning artists as a recording engineer, and also participated in numerous bands. Holding a position at a music publishing company currently, I am well-versed in the understanding of multiple genres, songwriting, and multiple approaches to learning a new instrument.

Reading music is also an important skill, but training one's ear is the first step to musicianship in my experience. - A typical lesson would start by learning how to play a given song by ear, as well as teaching how to read sheet music. - As a musician who has studied classical, jazz, and also been an audio engineer and songwriter, I have a unique perspective on how to cater to a wide variety of musicians' needs. - Looking to teach novice and intermediate players
