About Jude
Hi there, I'm Jude. I am 21 years old and just about to graduate from the University of Cambridge. I was born in Madrid and have lived in Barcelona since 2015, returning to the UK to study here. I am passionate about all things history and politics, but I also really enjoy sport in my spare time. I also really love travelling, and given my experience of living abroad, I feel comfortable being away from home. I started teaching in 2022 just after my A-Levels and enjoyed helping students at summer schools in Barcelona and Cambridge. I find tutoring particularly satisfying because providing 1 to 1 bespoke sessions for motivated students helps accelerate their progress, and it has been fantastic to hear of the improvements my tutees have made since I started offering tutoring sessions in late 2024. I hope that with my experience and teaching methods, which focus closely on the individual needs of the student and on the techniques required to turn a student's knowledge a topic into a great essay or argumentative piece of writing, I can be of great help.

Lessons are ultimately adapted to the needs of each student. They are typically one hour long and centred on one major topic or issue the student wants to tackle. Often a piece of written work can be handed in beforehand which I will look at and provide feedback as this helps structure the class. If the student requires I can also prepare a presentation with key talking points for the class. I want my lessons to be rigorous and helpful, so I often dedicate up to an hour before each session in preparation on top of the hour spent teaching. I am proficient in essay and writing techniques but I can also help with fluency and verbal communication. I have achieved two First Class results at the University of Cambridge and I am predicted to graduate with a First Class degree. In my first year I ranked 2nd in my cohort and in my second year I ranked 4th. I was recipient of the Gelber Prize (Downing College Cambridge) for the greatest academic distinction in modern diplomatic or political history, or international relations as determined by examination result. I have taught English Language at the British School of Barcelona Summer School since 2022, and additionally I was a mentor on the Cambridge Summer Programme in 2024. Lessons are suitable for students from between 14-18 years old (GCSE to A-Level) or a bit older if students take a gap year before applying to Oxbridge. I hope that with my experience and enthusiasm I can provide some really helpful sessions :)
