About Derek
I have been tutoring for a decade, both in person and for the last 5 years, virtually. I have an accredited degree from the University of Dayton and have a passion for teaching. I’m patient and fun to work with, the students whom I’ve worked with stay on average a year until they no longer have a need for tutoring services. I am able to provide comprehensive lesson plans so you can work at your pace, as well as provide tests and quizzes to track your progress in specific areas required for courses. I have no doubt you will learn more from me faster and have more fun doing so! Physics and mathematics don’t need to be complicated, they should be fun and exciting and easy to understand- that’s what I strive for!

I have been a tutor since I was 14 years old. In college, I worked for my university by tutoring physics classes that I had taken the semesters prior, all while studying as a full-time student! I specialize in taking complex ideas and concepts and making them much simpler to understand using analogies, examples or diagrams. I have a lot of time researching Quantum Mechanics, Statistics, and Thermodynamics. I currently tutor for:
Algebra: pre-algebra, Alg 1&2
Calculus: AB, BC, I, II, III
Physics: 1, 2, C,
Statistics: AP+H, Mathematical Statistics I
Thermodynamics: Thermo, Statistical Thermo, Quantum Thermo, Statistical Mechanics
