About Lucy
I have always had a love for literature and poetry and really enjoyed studying these at university. I aim to make lessons fun and interesting and most importantly, focused on you and your personal educational needs and goals. I want to share my knowledge and my love for the subject because I believe that grasping English also means grasping and enjoying learning about Politics, History, Sociology and more. During my school years I tutored younger students in the subject and at university I tutored A level students. I love meeting and talking to new people and helping students improve and, even better, enjoy the subject.

Lessons with me are typically an hour long. We can take the first ten minutes of our first lesson to discuss your personal goals. If your focus is reading we will look at a text, discuss it and then I'll give you some time to write about it/ answer comprehension questions. If the focus is poetry I'll give you a brief introduction to the poet/ poetic theme we are covering and then we will go through poetic devices and techniques to look out for. Once again, I would give you some independent time to analysis the poetry and then we would go through your findings together, including how you would then write about the poetry in an essay.
