About Norah
I graduated with a B.S. degree in Bioengineering, and learned intensive science and applications of science for engineering medical devices and medical solutions. Science was my favorite subject in school because it helped me see the world through a different lens, and I could apply my science lessons to many aspects of my life. I decided to become a teacher, and will graduated with a M.Ed. in Secondary Science. I teach Physical Science, Chemistry, and Physics at a high school in Philadelphia, and have taught condensed versions of Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 during summer school.
I tutored math in high school, and it was a great experience because I could explain challenging topics to friends, classmates, or students in younger grades, and offer a different perspective or way to solve a problem. I also used tutoring services at my college, and this experience was rewarding because I received individualized help with computer programming problems and designing experiments. As a professional with experience teaching, tutoring and being tutored, I truly understand the benefits of individualized instruction, and am looking forward to utilizing my education in engineering and teacher education to assist students with their learning goals.

I am a science teacher at a high in the Philadelphia area. My teaching methods include direct instruction of knowledge, working through practice problems or applications of questions, and applying theory to real-world scenarios. A typical lesson plan consists of a few minutes to introduce the topic, dedicated time to review past, applicable topics, direct instruction of new content, and exploratory work through practice problems or application problems. I tutored in high school, and enjoyed the time working with my peers to help them with challenging concepts. I also have been tutored, and I appreciated learning from someone with a different perspective than my own or my teacher's perspective. I have a BS in Bioengineering, and a M.Ed. in Secondary Science. My lessons are for students in grades 7-12, in math or science classes. My specialty is chemistry, and additional classes include algebra, calculus, and physics.
