My approach is a firm but positive one, influenced by several pedagogical schools, including Suzuki and El Sistema. Not being bound to one method enables me to be flexible with my students and tailor my teaching to them. I teach pupils how to read basic music, then aim to get my students engaging directly with the sound of their instrument as quickly as possible afterwards. As music is often like having a conversation, we often play together.
