About Alison
I am a recent graduate of the University of Cape Town. I received my Bachelor of Social Sciences in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics in 2021. Because of this, I am well acquainted with the pros and cons of online learning.
UNIVERSITY LEVEL SUBJECTS
I am able to assist in all first and second year UCT PPE courses. This includes planning and editing essays, completing tutorial assignments together, or preparation for upcoming tests and exams.
In high school I chose to take History, Life Sciences, and Information Technology. I thoroughly enjoyed each of these subjects but I also know how easy it might be to fall behind.
HIGH SCHOOL SUBJECTS
History has always been my favourite subject. While the content may seem overwhelming, history is basically just a story. It may seem like loads of names, and dates, and events that all get blurred together - but I'd be happy to assist in showing you easy strategies to remember what's happening, when, and to who. There's also an important trick to answering source-based questions properly, and I'd be excited to assist with assignments and practice figuring out exactly what answers your teachers are looking for.
English is another favourite of mine. I love reading, writing, and poetry. Together we would cover all of the poems you might need assistance with, plan out essays and orals, and catch up on the assigned reader.
Information Technology is all about practice. However, it is difficult to practice by yourself when you have no idea what you're doing wrong. I can assist you with your code, whether Scratch or Delphi, and make sure you are thoroughly prepared so that you aren't running out of time during tests or falling behind on your project.
Life Sciences is one of those subjects that seems more scary than it really is. I can help you to thoroughly cover the work and make sure we fill in any gaps so that biology doesn't seem so intimidating anymore.
