About Lauren
I’ve been tutoring professionally for 17 years across all subjects, but my favorite subjects to teach are English, Film, and Art History. I have an Associate’s Degree in Journalism and a double Bachelor's in Creative Writing and Literature. I’ve edited books and scripts, taught at public and private schools, and have special experience working with ESL students and students with disabilities. I believe that every single person is capable of being a strong reader and writer, they just need to find a way to connect to the material that speaks to them.

I like to teach reading comprehension and writing proficiency towards the student’s individual strengths. I believe that every student is capable of improving their skills, as long as we take the time to build a curriculum tailored to them. Each person has a unique voice and perspective and these things are the building blocks for English language skills.
