I am currently a middle grades math and since teacher in North Carolina. Along with being able to teach to tested standards, I take the time to build relationships with students because I believe first and foremost students are people. No one can learn if they do not feel comfortable.

As a teacher I believe what is done in the classroom should connect with real world experiences. I provide problems in the context of what they experience on a daily basis. Within the sciences I provide hands-on experiments that students can conduct in their own home. Science and math are everywhere and that is what I want to convey in my lessons.
