About Xiaogang
I am a historian by training and obtained MA and PhD degrees in Canada. My minor is politics and religious studies. My major is Modern and Contemporary China and minor is Latin America and Military History. I have a good list of publications in history. I work as term adjunct since 2014 and have had good experience in teaching in Canada.

My teaching method involves two aspects of attitude and approach. Attitude concerns responsibility: A teacher takes half of the responsibility and does his/her best to teach while his/her students are responsible for rest and finish the assignments. My teaching approach is around identifying and encouraging students' creativity while transferring to them academic skills, namely critical reading, conceptional considering and analytical writing. Practicing is essential in teaching.
