I am a 31 year old guitarist and singer who graduated with a BA in Music from the University of California at Santa Barbara I have taught music for about 8 years total. I have toured in a rock band throughout 42 states and have played in a band for the past 16 years.

I like to discuss with the student what drew them to music and what drew them to the guitar specifically. I then ask which types of songs they would be interested in learning. Once they provide me with some music, I use elements of each song to teach them basic guitar theory and techniques. Every song they learn will then be able to provide them with a new tool for their future guitar playing.
