About Kaitlyn
I hold a B.Mus in Classical Guitar and a Diploma in Contemporary Music, with 7 years of experience teaching students of all levels. My expertise includes fingerstyle technique, chord progression, improvisation, music theory, sight-reading, performance preparation, and ensemble playing. I create lessons that combine technical skill-building with creative exploration, helping students develop both proficiency and expressive artistry. I emphasize individualized instruction, patience, and encouragement. Lessons integrate exercises, repertoire, theory, and performance coaching to build confidence, technical ability, and musical expression. Outside teaching, I stay engaged with music through performance, composition, and exploring different genres. I mentor students for recitals, exams, and ensemble work, supporting both technical and artistic growth. Watching learners develop technical mastery, expressive interpretation, and self-assurance is incredibly rewarding. My aim is to cultivate skilled, confident, and passionate guitarists who enjoy performing and expressing themselves through music.

Guitar lessons focus on developing technical proficiency, musical expression, and performance confidence. I cover finger positioning, strumming patterns, chord construction, scales, arpeggios, sight-reading, improvisation, and song interpretation. Lessons include repertoire across genres, music theory applications, ear training, and ensemble collaboration. Lessons are structured to suit each learner’s level. Beginners focus on foundational techniques, simple songs, and basic music reading. Intermediate learners refine fingerstyle, chord transitions, improvisation, and rhythmic control. Advanced students explore complex repertoire, solo performance techniques, advanced improvisation, and performance preparation. Each session balances structured exercises with creative experimentation, helping students grow musically, technically, and expressively.
Students gain technique, musical understanding, and confidence in performing. I guide learners through solo practice, ensemble collaboration, creative expression, and repertoire development. Lessons also encourage independent practice, critical listening, and musical interpretation. My goal is to cultivate confident, skilled, and expressive guitarists who can perform with technical precision and emotional depth, whether for personal enjoyment, performances, or exams.
