About Zyla
I hold a B.Mus in Guitar Performance and Contemporary Music and have 6 years of experience teaching guitar to students of all levels. My teaching philosophy emphasizes technical mastery, creative expression, and building confidence in a positive, supportive environment. I encourage learners to experiment, explore their musical voice, and develop both skill and artistry. Lessons include technique, repertoire, improvisation, ensemble work, and performance practice. I provide personalized guidance, constructive feedback, and strategies for continuous improvement. My approach blends disciplined training with creative exploration, helping learners progress steadily while developing artistic expression. Outside teaching, I perform, study new repertoire, and explore contemporary techniques to enrich lessons. Teaching guitar is deeply rewarding because I witness students grow into expressive, confident musicians. Supporting their development in both skill and creativity is the most fulfilling part of my work.

Guitar lessons are most effective when students balance technical skill, musical expression, and performance readiness. I focus on fingerstyle technique, chord transitions, scales, improvisation, soloing, rhythm development, tone shaping, sight-reading, and stage presence. Lessons include structured exercises, repertoire practice, creative improvisation, duet sessions, and performance simulations. I foster a supportive, encouraging environment where learners can experiment, make mistakes, and develop their musical identity. Mental practice, reflective exercises, and expressive exploration are integrated into every session to reinforce both skill and artistry. My method combines disciplined technical training with creative exploration to cultivate versatile, confident guitarists capable of playing both technically and expressively.
Lesson progression is tailored to the learner’s level. Beginners focus on basic chords, finger positioning, strumming, and simple melodies. Intermediate learners refine scales, chord transitions, improvisation, phrasing, and technique. Advanced learners work on complex solos, stylistic interpretation, and performance preparation. Constructive feedback, guided exercises, and performance practice help learners develop both technical mastery and artistic expression.
Guitar lessons cultivate confidence, skill, and musicality. Students learn to interpret music authentically, perform with poise, and express personal musical ideas.
