About Faye
I have been teaching guitar for nine years, driven by a passion for music and a commitment to nurturing student growth. I work with learners of all ages and skill levels, tailoring lessons to individual goals, abilities, and musical preferences. Teaching allows me to combine structured technical guidance with creative freedom, fostering both skill and personal expression in every student. I approach lessons with patience, clarity, and adaptability. I blend technical exercises with repertoire practice, improvisation, and performance coaching. Lessons focus on fingerstyle, chords, rhythm, and interpretation, while encouraging students to develop confidence, individuality, and artistic voice. Each session is designed to motivate, inspire, and cultivate steady, meaningful progress. Outside of teaching, I perform, compose, and explore new musical styles to continuously expand my knowledge and perspective. Watching students progress from beginners to confident, expressive musicians capable of performing and interpreting music is deeply rewarding. Helping learners develop technical mastery, creativity, and a lifelong connection to music is the essence of my teaching philosophy.

My guitar lessons are designed to develop both technical skill and artistic expression in a supportive and motivating environment. Each session combines exercises, repertoire study, improvisation, and performance strategies to help students gain confidence and mastery. I emphasise proper technique, fingerstyle, chords, scales, rhythm, and stylistic interpretation while encouraging learners to explore their personal musical voice. Lessons balance structure with creativity, ensuring students make steady progress while remaining inspired and motivated. Beginners focus on basic chords, strumming patterns, finger placement, and simple melodies. Intermediate learners work on barre chords, improvisation, stylistic techniques, and more complex repertoire. Advanced students refine soloing, composition, performance preparation, and artistic interpretation. Assignments include technical drills, listening tasks, repertoire practice, and optional recordings to track progress. Lessons are tailored to the student’s goals and abilities, fostering consistent growth and personal engagement. Students gain not only technical mastery but also creativity, self-expression, and stage confidence. Many go on to perform publicly, collaborate with peers, compose original music, or record independently. Guitar study cultivates discipline, focus, and resilience, while also nurturing personal artistry. My goal is to help each learner develop skill, creativity, and a unique musical voice, empowering them to explore, interpret, and share music confidently and authentically.
