About Miri
I hold a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Guitar and have 7 years of experience teaching students from beginners to advanced performers. My training focused on technique, improvisation, and performance artistry, shaping a holistic approach to guitar instruction. Over the years, I have helped learners develop technical proficiency, expressive ability, and confidence, while nurturing their unique musical voice. I focus on creating a supportive environment where students feel motivated to explore ideas, embrace challenges, and take ownership of their learning. My teaching philosophy emphasises structured skill-building, creative exploration, and individualised guidance. Lessons combine technical exercises with repertoire, improvisation, and stylistic study, allowing learners to connect theory with practical application. Mistakes are treated as opportunities for growth, fostering resilience, independence, and artistic self-assurance. I guide students to develop strong technical foundations while encouraging personal expression and creativity. Beyond teaching, I actively perform, study new repertoire, and explore diverse musical styles, which I integrate into lessons for inspiration and relevance. My guitar lessons focus on developing a strong technical foundation while nurturing creativity, stylistic understanding, and expressive performance skills. I focus on linking theory to practical playing, enabling learners to see the real-world application of musical concepts.
