About Leif
I have been teaching guitar for nine years, drawing from my experience as a performer, composer, and music educator to help students achieve both skill and artistry. Guiding learners to discover their musical voice continues to inspire me every day. My teaching approach is patient, adaptive, and creative. I combine technical exercises with performance and improvisation practice, tailoring lessons to individual strengths, goals, and interests. I foster a supportive environment where students feel confident, motivated, and inspired. Outside teaching, I perform, compose, and collaborate with other musicians to stay inspired and bring fresh ideas into lessons. Guitar instruction is not just a career — it is a passion that allows me to share music, creativity, and confidence with every student.

Guitar combines technical skill with artistic expression, and my lessons focus on both aspects. I create a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to explore chords, scales, and musical styles while building confidence and creativity. Each lesson balances structured exercises with improvisation and performance practice, fostering skill, artistry, and enjoyment. Beginners focus on fundamental chords, rhythm, and finger placement to develop a solid foundation. Intermediate learners work on scales, fingerstyle techniques, and improvisation across genres. Advanced students refine performance, composition, and expressive interpretation, developing both technical mastery and personal musical identity. Lessons are tailored to the student’s goals and abilities. By the end, students gain technical proficiency, artistic confidence, and the ability to perform expressively. They develop creativity, interpretive skills, and a personal voice in music. Lessons aim to cultivate independent, motivated, and expressive guitarists who enjoy their musical journey.
