About Alan
I am a self employed music tutor from Edinburgh and have been teaching guitar for almost 20 years. After picking up lessons in high school learning classical guitar I quickly motivated myself to save and buy my own electric and amplifier! I then started teach myself more popular styles of music which led me on to doing an HND inMusic Performance at the uhi Millennium Institutein Perth. Here I learnt more about performing in a band as well as songwriting skills. I then went onto study a degree in Popular and Contemporary music at Newcastle University achieving a 2:1.

I have been teaching guitar since 2002 and have since crafted and perfected my lesson plan in order for students to achieve fantastic progress in a short amount of time. I offer bespoke lessons to my students in order for them to get the most out of each class whether it's learning a particular technique, learning the theory or just simply wanting to have fun with a new Hobbie!
