About Donald
I passed classical guitar Grade 8 when I was 17 after playing for 2 years. I graduated in music in 1979 before gaining employment as a guitar teacher for a private music school in Harpenden, Herts. This experience developed an interest in teaching which led me to do a PGCE in Music. In a long and varied career, I have almost always taught and I retain an interest in teaching and teaching processes now. In the 1980s I performed professionally as a guitarist with flautist Lucinda Bunce and, together, we played at many well-know classical music venues including St. Martin’s in the Fields, St. John’s Smith Square and live on Classic FM. I was a regular reviewer for Classical Guitar Magazine during the 1990s.

My teaching is based on the sound methodology passed on to me by my excellent teachers and by my own experience in nearly 40 years of teaching. I am happy to teach music reading and/or TAB and the initial lessons will concentrate on good posture and establishing the basis of a good technique.
