About Skye
Hi! I’m a guitar teacher with 7 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Guitar Emphasis. I specialize in songwriting, composition, and artist development, helping students turn their musical ideas into fully realized songs. My lessons focus on creative expression while building strong guitar skills and musical confidence. I’m passionate about guiding students through the songwriting process—from brainstorming and structure to melody writing and lyric development. I love helping guitarists shape their personal style and explore their own sound. Whether you’re writing your first song or polishing a demo, I offer step-by-step support in a relaxed and encouraging space. I’ve mentored aspiring singer-songwriters and independent musicians who want to record, perform, or just enjoy writing music. We also dive into basic home recording, using tools and techniques to capture your sound. My goal is to empower each student to grow as both a player and a creative artist. My guitar teaching approach blends creativity, structure, and real-world tools to help each student grow in their own style. I focus on strong fundamentals while encouraging exploration through improvisation, composition, and expressive playing. Lessons are tailored to each student's interests—whether that's jazz harmony, rock riffs, or songwriting.
We dive into music theory, ear training, and fretboard knowledge to build deep understanding, not just memorization. I help students connect what they hear to what they play. For those who love to break the rules or explore complex sounds, I provide a space to experiment and develop their unique voice.
Performance coaching is part of the journey, from building confidence to mastering stage presence. I also use tech tools like DAWs, amp simulators, and metronome apps to create a more engaging, hands-on experience. We often record progress to hear growth and make improvements.
Each lesson balances discipline with creativity. I support students who thrive on energy, emotion, or musical curiosity. My goal is to help every guitarist play with purpose, passion, and skill—whether they’re on stage or in their room.
