About Esme
I’m a guitar teacher with over 4 years of experience and an Associate Degree in Guitar Performance. I’ve had the joy of teaching in community-based programs, local gigs, and school enrichment clubs, helping students connect with music in meaningful ways. Guiding first-time learners through their first chord, first solo, and first performance is one of my favorite parts of teaching. My lessons are built on curiosity, connection, and consistent encouragement. I love seeing students explore the guitar at their own pace while feeling supported every step of the way. From learning basic chords to tackling more complex solos, I aim to make every lesson engaging and achievable. I also emphasize performance readiness, helping students feel confident when playing for others, whether in casual settings or more formal environments. Music becomes a space to express creativity, connect with others, and build lasting skills. I tailor each session to the learner’s goals, interests, and learning style. Every lesson is an opportunity to grow, experiment, and enjoy the journey of music. I warmly invite you to pick up your guitar and make your first strum count.

My guitar teaching approach blends hands-on technique with modern technology to make learning engaging and effective. I use chord visualizers and interactive apps so students can see and hear their progress in real time. Loop pedals and recording software allow learners to experiment, layer parts, and refine their sound creatively.
Tempo control is a key focus, supported by digital metronomes and backing tracks that help students internalize rhythm. I also guide learners through harmonics and tone shaping, using visual and auditory feedback to reinforce concepts. Songwriting on DAWs is another exciting element, giving students tools to compose, arrange, and produce their own music. Multi-track practice helps them hear their growth and develop independent layering skills.
Some students thrive with structure, and I provide step-by-step digital exercises that keep practice organized and motivating. Others love expressive freedom, and technology allows them to experiment and explore new sounds. I tailor lessons to each student’s style, pace, and goals, creating a balance of creativity and focus.
Lessons are interactive, playful, and goal-oriented. Students gain both technical mastery and expressive confidence. My aim is to help every guitarist use technology as a bridge to understanding, creativity, and musical growth.
