In addition to my professional experience as a science teacher, I am also an experienced guitarist and outdoor enthusiast. (My trail name on the Appalachian Trail was "Guitar Andy." I live with my wife and four kids on a small organic farm.

One of the best pieces of advice I ever got was "teach a student, not a curriculum." This is how I approach teaching -- I have a vast amount of knowledge about music, but, above all, I am responsive to each student's curiosity and individual goals. I have a very patient demeanor and I have always had a knack for taking complicated concepts and finding ways to distill them down in a way that is more easy to understand. I have been a professional educator for 20 years and I truly enjoy the process of learning together.
