The purpose of learning a language is to communicate, but the meaning is not just the only one.
Ignorance often means happiness, and language learning makes this natural ignorance far away.
The more kinds of languages we learn, and the longer we learn a language, the more conflicts we will have in our minds. This is the pain.
But this kind of torture is valuable, it pushes human civilization forward, it pushes learners to keep breaking the unknown, to explore, to discover. This is the salvation.
I have been studying Chinese characters since I was an undergraduate, and my major during graduate study was translation, which gave me the opportunity to understand and explain Chinese characters from the perspective of English culture. The experience of online Chinese teaching in recent years has made me realize that the combination of digital information and education, especially language teaching, is the trend of the future. Now, discover the beauty of Chinese with me.
