About Heather
Truthfully, the reason I shifted toward tutoring is that I saw too many analysts struggling with basic theory. After finishing my BBA in Financial Engineering at Columbia Business School, I realized the industry requires a unique blend of precision and patience.
I spent 8 years working in high-pressure environments where a single miscalculation in a model could cost millions. Now I teach capital budgeting, portfolio theory, and bond valuation to people who want to bridge the gap between academia and the desk. I enjoy explaining risk and return in ways that make the math intuitive. You will notice that I treat our time together as a professional apprenticeship.

Students often struggle because they treat bond and equity formulas as static objects rather than living logic. I admit that I was once just as lost when trying to synthesize financial statement analysis with real market data. My 8 years in the field taught me that modeling is about telling a coherent story with numbers. We will focus on CFA foundations and advanced budgeting techniques to ensure your work withstands professional critique.
I find that steady practice on risk and return models is the most effective way to gain confidence. My lessons are designed to mirror the actual workflow of a modern finance analyst. You will learn to build systems that are as flexible as they are accurate. I have structured these sessions to favor depth over breadth for every student.
