About Asher
I am incredibly passionate about education, and believe that anybody can learn a new skill with the right tools. I graduated high school in 2024, and have just completed my freshman year at BGSU majoring in 7-12th grade education, though I have experience teaching early childhood and middle school as well. I have one full year of teaching 7th and 8th grade band under my belt, and over a year of offering private lessons. I currently play gigs at various locations ranging from restaurants, music venues, festivals, and more. I value education and student-tutor relationships, and believe I would be a good fit for anybody looking to expand their musical talent!

In my lessons, I like to take a very hands-on approach. I like to begin each lesson with a debrief on where the student is at, and what goals they would like to achieve. I value learning about each student's likes, and what draws them to the instrument, as this helps me create a more individualized lesson plan for all students. I like to aid students in learning a song of their choice. I believe it makes the lessons incredibly engaging to learn a song that the student really connects to. I understand learning curves and challenges that students may face, especially from a remote learning environment. I primarily teach those who are just starting out on guitar, regardless of age. It’s never too late to pick up something new, and I look forward to having a low-stress environment that encourages student well-being and growth.
